Gozo Sprint Duathlon – National Championship 2022 is organized by Shamrock Stars Sports Club under the supervision of the Malta Triathlon Federation.
RACE DETAILS, RULES AND REGULATIONS:
REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED
This event will be held on Sunday the 13th of March 2022. The Senior Race will start at 7.15 am on the main road to Gharb.
Those competing must be there 30 minutes before their respective race starts.
- 7.15am Race Starts – Gozo Sprint Duathlon
- 8.45am Category 1 Starts
- 9.10am Category 2 Starts
- 9.40am Category 3 Starts
- 10.15am Category 4 Starts
The sprint distances will be 5km (2 loops of 2.5km) Run, 20km (8 loops of 2.5km) Bike and 2.5km (1 loop) Run.

- Cycling will be Draft Legal.
- No time trial bikes, no pointed aero helmets and no aerobars can be used
- A briefing will be held 5 minutes prior to the races
- The Youth Races will start at 8.45am
- The distances are as indicated in the chart below.

Athletes born 2006 or before will be racing with the adults.
- Fees are €15 for youths and €30 for adults
- All athletes must hold a valid 2022 MTF License plus insurance.
This National Championship Sprint Duathlon is an official MTF race event valid for the 2022 TOYT Point System. Category 1 youth race is non competitive therefore not holding any TOTY Points.
- Race route will be closed to traffic. Parking will not be permitted along the race route.
- Event Hub and Transition Area is fully closed off. Within the perimeter of this area, only race officials, 2 coaches from each club and athletes are allowed to enter.
- Athletes to clear the hub and transition area as soon as their race finishes.
- This event will be following the current Covid-19 protocols.
This event is subject to permits from local authorities.Therefore if in the case there will be the cancellation of this race event no refunds will be given but instead participants will be eligible to participate for free in the next duathlon organized by Shamrock Stars Sports Club.
